Hi, I am Robert Porter, CPA, and I am committed to helping you out. A commitment that goes beyond completing tasks. I build relationships with my clients, understand their business, and discover their hopes, dreams, and worries. This goes well beyond filing tax forms. I am a teacher at heart, and my goal is to help you make sense of your finances and taxes. I want to help you understand why you pay the taxes you do. And yes, I know you're paying taxes every time you turn around. I'll help you understand them and maybe pay a little less.
Preparation
I'll do the work, and I'll do it right. And if I get it wrong, I'll make it right.
Communication
I'll communicate with you. I respond to emails and questions. I'll talk with you about different options and help you understand the pros and cons of each.
Education
I'll educate you. I help clients do as much as they can on their own to keep things cost-effective. I want you to understand why we file each form and why you pay the taxes you do.
Planning
I'll help you pay as little tax as possible. I'll search for tax-saving opportunities available to you, and I'll help you choose the ones that best fit your goals. But I'll always keep you on the right side of the line. The road to resting a little easier includes following the law.

About Me
Helping business owners make better decisions has been my lifelong passion. Watching my father run his business sparked my curiosity as a young boy, and I started my accounting career right in his office. He taught me old-fashioned bookkeeping on paper kept in giant ledger books. As I got better at it, I soon realized that understanding his financials was the starting point for making good business decisions. His books informed everything he did. He ran it for almost 50 years, with many ups and downs, and eventually sold it for a price that let him retire comfortably.
I've never forgotten the lessons learned from working with my dad, and I draw upon them to help my clients. While my primary task is tax preparation and planning, I'm passionate about helping business owners understand their financials so they can make the best decisions possible.
I'm a small-town kid from the Arkansas River Valley who has been fortunate to have many diverse opportunities and experiences. After receiving my bachelor's degree from Hendrix College, I earned my CPA certificate in 1986. While my career started in Little Rock, it has taken me to Chicago, Frankfurt, Germany, Los Angeles, and back to Northwest Arkansas. I worked for both large and small accounting firms, as well as Fortune 500 public corporations and new business start-ups. I've been around a long time and have played many different roles in business and in life. I use my training and experience to help make life a little better for my clients.
I've been happily married for 40 years, and my wife, Elaine, and I have raised two grown sons. We've made Fayetteville our home since 2006. When we're not working, we're usually out "adventuring" – hiking, biking, camping, and traveling.
